Posada Shalimar in Rio Caribe is a colonial guesthouse
located in the old center of the village on the Caribbean coast
of the State of Sucre, on mainland Venezuela.
The posada is an old colonial building which has been completely
reconstructed to the owner’s design, combining the original Latin
American charm with Arabic architecture and influences.
It offers a special cozy and very private atmosphere which you will
never find in a huge hotel. Shalimar is great for individual travelers, as well as tourists from all over Latin America, who visit frequently and very much appreciate
the service and atmosphere.

Cocoa plantations and haciendas de cacao, hot springs,
buffalo farms and especially the very famous beaches of Medina,
Pui Puy, San Juan, Sipara, Santa Isabel… all these you can reach
very easily from Rio Caribe. A boat tour along the Caribbean cost
from Rio Caribe to the Playas of Medina and Pui Puy will be definitely
a high point of your visit. Tours can also be arranged to the mangrove
swamps of the northern Orinoco Delta, Guacharo caves, Margarita
Island, the rainforests of Peninsula de Paria, and the waterfalls
of Santa Isabel. And Rio Caribe is used as a stop over on the way
