Day trips from Rio Caribe We offer 4 different day trips in Paria. To all tours we recommend to wear comfortable shoes, sun and mosquito protection and medicine for particular use. |
1) Boat trip and Beaches of Medina and PuiPuy
After breakfast you can visit the fish market at the beach
of Rio Caribe - after this you can go on a boat trip along the Caribbean
coast to the very famous beaches of Medina and PuiPuy – giving you sufficient
time to swim and relax & the possibility to have lunch at the beach (on
your own expense) return late afternoon to Rio Caribe. For tour prices please contact the posada.
2) Nationparks of Turuepano and Serrania de Paria
After breakfast will be a day trip to the Camp of Vuelta Larga - Visit
and a approximate 90 minute walk through the mountains of the National
Park of Turuepano and Serrania de Paria with spectacular views over the
Caribbean coast - wild animal and bird watching (the feathered variety)
- hot springs and boat tour on the water canals in the camp. Lunch in
the camp included. Return to Rio Caribe late afternoon. For tour prices please contact the posada.
3) Northern Delta of the Orinoco
After breakfast a day trip to Ajies, crossing an amazing mountain landscape
which pass in a north south direction to the heart of the flooded Savannah
of the Paria depression. Then we go on a boat trip to the manglave of
the northern Delta of the Orinoco. In this trip which last approximately
4 hours we can see the changes in the vegetation from gallery forests
in the fresh water to the mangroves in the salt sea.
With luck we can see howler monkeys, sankes which rests from the heat
of the day on the branches of the trees and a great variety of birds -
among them the sunbitter, cinnamon hawk, parrots and toucans. Return in
the evening to Rio Caribe. For tour prices please contact the posada.
4) Hacienda de Cacao and Beach Los Cocos
After breakfast a half day trip to see and visit the Hacienda de Bukare, where we will see and learn everything about Cacao and the process which finally ends into bars of Chocolate. Of course you will have the chance to taste and buy Chocolate in different varieties. The afternoon is on your own disposal - alternatively you can visit the beach of Los Cocos or just relax in a charming atmosphere at the swimming pool. For tour prices please contact the posada.
